Hutten Metaal Yamaha has made a positive start at the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Harfsen. Andrea Bonacorsi and Karlis Alberts Reisulis were finishing in fourth and fifth position and after a difficult first moto, Ivano van Erp came back strong in the second moto to finish in fifth position.

A strong field of riders were present at Harfsen to race the opening round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross. The track was in good condition despite some soft spots due to the winter weather circumstances from a week earlier. The 250 class had to qualify themselves in two groups. All three riders were in the second group. Van Erp set the second fastest time and Bonacorsi and Reisulis set the fourth and fifth fastest times on the clock. All three riders had a good feeling on the track and were ready to go!

When the gate dropped in the first moto it were Bonacorsi and Van Erp who were taking a really good start. Bonacorsi took the holeshot but made a crash during the opening lap and dropped all the way back to around fifteenth position. Van Erp crashed in the opening lap as well and came by start/finish in 29th position. Reisulis had no problems in the beginning of the race and worked himself up from sixth to fourth position. He was riding a consistent race and lost only one position to Bonacorsi who came back strong to finish fourth, right in front of Reisulis. Van Erp couldn’t find his rhythm after the crash and had to be satisfied with fifteenth position.

Boancorsi was riding a consistent race in the second moto and came home in fourth position. Van Erp worked his way up from sixth position to fifth position and Reisulis had some more work to do this time and charged back from ninth to sixth position.

Bonacorsi and Reisulis were finishing in fourth and fifth position overall while van Erp ended the day in eighth position. Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing will now prepare themselves for the opening round of the EMX250 Championship in Sardinia this weekend.
