Janis and Karlis Reisulis, together with Pauls Jonass, delivered a strong result at the Motocross of Nations in Ernée. The two Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 riders helped Latvia secure fourth place in the nations classification, the country’s best-ever result at the Motocross of Nations. Janis also finished sixth in the individual MX2 classification, while Karlis claimed ninth place in the MXGP class.
Following their MX2 World Championship season, the Reisulis brothers travelled to the hilly Ernée circuit for the 79th edition of the Motocross of Nations. Janis represented Latvia in the MX2 class. In the first race, which saw the MXGP and MX2 riders compete together, he crossed the finish line in 20th place. In the MX2 and Open race, he improved to 12th. This made him the sixth MX2 rider across the finish line, earning him sixth place in the individual MX2 classification.
Karlis Reisulis switched to the MXGP class for the Nations, stepping up to the heavier machine. The 20-year-old Latvian made a strong impression, recording 13th and 16th-place finishes in his two races. Those results earned him ninth place in the individual MXGP classification.
Together with Pauls Jonass, the Reisulis brothers collected enough strong results to help Latvia finish fourth overall. The result marked the country’s best-ever finish at the FIM Motocross of Nations.
Following the event in Ernée, the Motocross of Nations will head to the Netherlands next year. The 80th edition of the FIM Motocross of Nations will take place on October 9 and 10, 2027, in Assen.
