Bonacorsi was showing his potential in time practice and set the seventh fastest time. In the qualifying heat things went different for Bonacorsi because due to a set back he wasn’t able to finish te race. Despite a crash, van Erp set the fourteenth fastest time in time practice. Things were going better for him in the qualifying heat because he finished in a strong tenth place.
Due to his DNF in the qualifying heat, Bonacorsi had to start from the outside but managed to take a good start in the opening moto. He came out of the first lap in eleventh position and passed some more riders in the first half of the race. He kept pushing and finally finished the race in a strong sixth position. Van Erp crashed in the beginning of the race and had to come back through the field. From 33rd position he fought his way all the way back to seventeenth place.
Van Erp took a better start in the second moto and came out of the opening lap in eleventh position. After a few laps he moved up to tenth and after a late moto charge he came home in ninth position. Bonacorsi had to come back from the back of the pack. He was riding a strong moto and worked himself up into fourteenth position. In an attempt to pass another rider he collided with him and crashed. By the crash his bike got damaged and this forced him to retire from the race.
After the two motos it was Van Erp who finished in twelfth position while Bonacorsi had to be satisfied with fifteenth position overall. This weekend the EMX250 Series will continue in Vantaa in Finland.
