Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing continued its development for the upcoming MX2 European championship series during the third round of the British MX2 championships at Canada Heights. The team used the opportunity for some final tests, and the riders slotting into their grooves nicely.
The track at Canada Heights was perfectly prepared and the riders had a perfect opportunity of measuring themselves against strong opposition. Andrea Bonacorsi started off well, qualifying second. Dave Kooiker slotted into the 20th qualifying spot.
Kooiker was determined to perform better in the races than in qualifying, and in this he succeeded, finishing 15th and 16th in the races respectively, gaining him 15th overall. Bonacorsi was seventh int he first race but a small mechanical problem in race two forced him to the sidelines. The riders were satisfied that they had done some valuable work in preparing for the EMX250 season.
