Thibault Benistant of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing maintained his race rhythm during the Open Dutch Championship event at Oss. Benistant rode two strong races, and can go into the next GP at Mantova with confidence.
Oss is one of the most beloved tracks on the Dutch circuit with some elevation changes, making it atypical for the country. Thibault qualified fourth after exploring the track. In race one, he took the early lead, and immediately cleared off from the pursuers. Even in comfort mode, he had too much for the opposition and won easily. He was however penalised by the officials for relieving himself against a tree rather than in the designated area.
Nonplussed by this administrative intrusion, Thibault continued in race two where he stopped in race one. Again, there was no measure that could contain him, and again he won easily.
Thibault regarded this as a good training outing, and indeed good preparation for the triple header GP at Mantova in Italy which offers similar sandy underground.
