The Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing team has had a successful day at the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross Series at Harfsen. Rick Elzinga managed to win both motos and took the overall win while Andrea Bonacorsi ended up third overall. After a crash at the start of the first race it was Kooiker he fought his way back to seventh place overall.
The day started positive for the team. All three riders were inside of the top five in time practice. Rick posted the second fastest time in front of Dave and Andrea ended up in fifth position.
The first moto started with a setback for Kooiker because after a good start he crashed in the first corner and had to come back through the field. Elzinga and Bonacorsi were in the front of the field and worked their way up into first and second in the beginning of the race. Both riders were riding in control and managed to finish in first and second position. Kooiker charged all the way back to eleventh position.
After a good start it was Elzinga who took the lead in the beginning of the race. He was riding a strong pace and managed to keep the second place rider behind him. After the midway point the race got red flagged and due to this it was Rick who was classified in first position. Bonacorsi came back from around seventh position to fifth position and Kooiker started the race in the leading group and finally finished the race in sixth position.
Elzinga took the overall win with a double moto victory and made a bigger advantage over himself and the second place rider in the championship. Bonacorsi took the third step on the podium and Kooiker finished in seventh position overall. Next weekend the EMX250 Series continues in Maggiora, Italy.
