Andrea Bonacorsi and Dave Kooiker of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing finished in the top ten during the fourth round of the Swedish motocross championships at Uddevalla. Bonacorsi secured seventh place and Kooiker tenth.
The riders made their intent known during qualifying already. Both teammates were third fastest in their respective groups, securing good start gates. Both of them launched directly into the top ten in heat one. Bonacorsi finished the first lap in seventh spot, with Dave a few places behind. After dropping back for a while, Bonacorsi pushed through to sixth. Kooiker had by then made an error and dropped a few spots. They finished sixth and 14th respectively.
Dave had a strong first phase in the second race and held steady in the top five for a number of laps. He lost a few spots towards the end to finish eighth. Bonacorsi made his way forward from further back and finished seventh. A rider ahead of both of them had received a time penalty, which meant that Bonacorsi was classified as sixth and Kooiker as seventh.
Bonacorsi was seventh overall and Dave Kooiker tenth. This was an educational experience for both riders leading into the EMX250 championship series.
