Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing reported for duty for they first race in a long time at the third round of the Swedish Championship in Uddevalla. After a long and intensive training period, the team was ready to gain some race rhythm with the EMX250 championship series fast approaching.<\/p>\n
The riders were confronted with a challenging track after heavy rains. All three riders did well during qualification nonetheless, with all three to be found in the top five.<\/p>\n
Jeremy Sydow’s first heat was mired by setback. The German had a good start and settled in with the leading group. After a few laps he crashed heavily, though, and broke his collarbone. He was immediately scheduled for an operation, so that he would not be out of action for too long.<\/p>\n
Andrea Bonacorsi rode strongly, working his way from tenth to fifth. Dave Kooiker also maintained a place within the top ten, eventually crossing the line in tenth.<\/p>\n
More rain between the heats turned the track into a quagmire. Bonacorsi managed the conditions well, and finished sixth in the second race. Kooiker was involved in a first race crash and retired to the pits for replacement gloves.\u00a0 He lost a lot of time and all hopes of a good result.<\/p>\n
Bonacorsi was sixth overall and Kooiker was listed at 14th.\u00a0 The team will be in action again on Sunday at the same track for the back-to-back Swedish Championship events.<\/p>\n
